Paterson on replacing Clinton

Joseph Spector of the Gannett News Services reports that Gov. David Paterson is “having new thinking” on whom he will name to replace Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The selection will come after Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration on Tuesday.

Paterson also plans to have follow-up conversations with some of the candidates. He did not say with whom.

The finalists appear to include Caroline Kennedy, state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and Reps. Steve Israel of Nassau County, and Kirsten Gillibrand of Columbia County.

“My job is not to pick the person who is popular today, it’s the person who is going to be popular in 2010,” Paterson said on WFAN-AM radio in New York City.

It’s Sunday and on any other Sunday I would be glued to the TV watching my Giants but now I wait for Daytona!! With that said Ms. O’Donnell I’m here chit chading with you!! By the way what happened to you a few days ago??? When we got into it about why people call “CK” a carpetbagger?? She’s not she got more money than God. It’s that free-loader living here in Westchester on my tax dollar!! “HC”!!! So how should Mr. David Patterson appoint to to this seat??? Why of course it should be Tom Souzzi!! of course!! He was sideswipped by this whole thing back 6+years ago when Rudy had to drop out because of his personal problems??? So with what ever money he could raise and with word of mouth he got run over and left for dead with that debt! He’s a great man and one that the people of L.I. believe in, not some want-a-be celib trying to get a free job??? Sorry Cuomo we remember your family and how things got real bad for us in Westchester!! Oh don’t think just because Mario took the tolls out of the Hutch and the SMP we’re forever in his debt. OH no!! Try replacing the lights on the Taconic then we’ll talk!! I was told that Sr.Cuomo did it to close the budget gap??? Now you can get killed with the deer darting out in the highway at night!!!
With regards to the others I’m sorry you’ll have to wait!
Suozzi is the right person for the job!
