More on Barack’s name

February
27

Talk show host Bill Cunningham went on Fox News’ Hannity and Colmes last night and refused to back off his attacks on “Barack Hussein Obama,” which I wrote about today.

Cunningham made news yesterday when he referred repeatedly to Obama’s middle name at a campaign rally for John McCain—comments McCain later repudiated.

Cunningham first tried to say he was just using Obama’s full name, then acknowledged he had called him “Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama” on his radio show, then announced he was done with McCain and was endorsing Hillary Clinton.

Watch it on Fox.

Russ Limbaugh and others on conservative radio are upset too. Limbaugh says he can’t believe somebody’s name is off limits—as if it’s really about Obama’s name.

What I find interesting about this whole thing is the way Obama is running away from his heritage. Hussein is his middle name, like it or not, and his (deadbeat) father was a muslim convert.

The funny thing is, nobody has actually said that it would be OK if Obama were actually a muslim. It’s as if we’re just accepting that being a muslim is bad, and that insinuating that somebody is a muslim is slander. Obama’s supporters are as guilty of this as anybody else.

How about Obama just say, yes, my middle name is Hussein, and my father was a muslim convert. That’s part of who I am, and it doesn’t mean I’m not a patriotic American.
